Wema Bank holds 70th Anniversary Commemorative Lecture

As part of activities to celebrate its 70th anniversary, Nigeria's longest surviving indigenous bank, Wema Bank, held a commemorative lecture titled, 'Why Nations Succeed' with Prof. James Robinson, co-author of the Book ' Why Nations Fail' and current David Florence Professor of Government, Harvard University as Keynote Speaker. The event also featured a stimulating panel discussion featuring former World Bank VP and current Senior Advisor, Africa Economic Development Policy Initiative, Oby Ezekwesili; Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, Prof. Oye Ibidapo Obe, Dean of the Lagos Business School, Dr. Enase Okonedo; Serving Overseer of The Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare and moderated by Segun Adeniyi, Chairman of the Editorial Board of ThisDay newspaper 

The lecture, which held at the Intercontinental Hotels, Lagos had captains of industry, key personalities from the political and business communities and members of the diplomatic community amongst others in attendance.
